Premier League: Redknapp praises Arsenal player's fortunate escape from red card vs Tottenham

According to Jamie Redknapp, a sports pundit for Sky Sports, Arsenal's Jurrien Timber was "lucky" not sent off in Sunday's 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

Timber was only sent off for a rough challenge on Pedro Porro in the early half of the incident.

The Dutchman was lucky not to see a red card, according to Redknapp.

The reason he goes over the ball with his studs on it is undoubtedly odd, according to Redknapp.

After that, he steps on the ball.

Last year, Curtis Jones was sent off after tackling Yves Bissouma in this very spot. It's almost the same.

Timber is incredibly fortunate.

Is it like in the earlier days when he used excessive force to do him? No, but he has done it in a way that the referee must decide.

He would have been sent off by other refs. He should not enter in such a manner. He has used an exceptional and excessive amount of force. I believe he's fortunate.
