Singer Raoul John Njeng-Njeng of Nigeria, better known by his stage as Skales, has stated that Burna Boy was an inspiration to him at one point in his career.
The musician from Port Harcourt didn't have a successful single before Skales featured Burna Boy on 2017's "Temper Remix," according to a recent interview he gave to Naija FM, Lagos.
But he did mention that Burna Boy has been an inspiration to him as well.
He went on to say that helping each other out is the most important part of working together.
"Burna Boy was influenced by me. We will reach a consensus. Thus, no one is aiding anybody. Probably because we are proud of who we are, we've decided to collaborate.
"Before I featured him on 'Temper Remix,' Burna Boy didn't have a single popular song."
He didn't begin to really shine until we worked together.
Not that Skales is attempting to claim credit for his achievements, but he has been an inspiration to him throughout the years, and perhaps I have been an inspiration to him as well.
