Bobrisky's sues the EFCC and NASS, losing N200 million and N1 billion

Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, better known by his stage name Bobrisky, was a crossdresser who sued the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for violating his basic rights.

A federal high court in Lagos State dismissed the case.

According to FGNEWSBLOG, Bobrisky had previously demanded N1 billion from the National Assembly for the infringement of his right to a fair hearing and sought N200 million from the EFCC for psychiatric stress.

The transvestite added that he wanted the court to prevent the EFCC and the National Assembly from wanting, arresting, or harassing him.

The audio tape that social media influencer Martins Otse posted, which allegedly shows Bobrisky paying the EFCC N15 million to dismiss money laundering charges, has cast him into the center of a scandal.

While handing down his ruling, Justice Alexander Owoeye found no merit in Bobrisky's allegations of rights violations and found no credible evidence to back them up.

Dele Oyewale, a spokesman for the EFCC, made the announcement on Friday.

Based on our review of the material presented by the applicant, it is clear that he has not shown sufficient evidence to support his requests for declaratory and injunctive relief.

My review of the affidavit evidence leads me to the conclusion that the first and second respondents did not stand accused of violating any basic rights.

The court found that the plaintiff's claims against the first and second defendants were without merit and dismissed them.

The EFCC was also not awarded damages by Justice Owoeye.
