The 17th Emir of Ningi has been appointed by Governor Bala Mohammed

The 17th Emir of Ningi, Alhaji Haruna Yunusa ÆŒanyaya, has been named by Bala Mohammed, the governor of Bauchi state.

The eldest son of the recently deceased Emir of Ningi, Yunusa Muhammad ÆŒanyaya, Alhaji Haruna currently holds the rank of 1st Class. Yunusa passed away approximately one week ago.

Officials in Bauchi, including Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity Mukhtar Gidado, made the announcement of the appointment public on Sunday.

Former Chiroman Ningi Alhaji Haruna Yunusa ÇŒanyaya was born in Ningi in 1956. He has a wife and kids of his own.

It was mentioned in the announcement that the appointment was made by Governor Mohammed on the suggestion of the kingmakers, in compliance with his powers assigned to him under the Appointment of Emirs and Chiefs laws of Bauchi State (Cap. 24 Item 3(1)).

In a statement, the Bauchi State Government conveyed its belief that the new Emir will continue his father's work of promoting harmony, prosperity, and togetherness throughout the Ningi Emirate and the entire state of Bauchi.

Recognizing the importance of traditional institutions to the state's stability and development, Governor Mohammed reaffirmed his administration's dedication to supporting them.
