In order to address the issues facing the nation, youths all throughout the nation have been asked by Senator Barau Jibrin, the Deputy President of the Senate, to promote peace, remain focused, and be creative in all of their endeavors.
He made the call at his Abuja home over the weekend after receiving the leadership of the APC X (Twitter) Eagle Forum.
The future of Nigeria is in the hands of the youth, according to Barau, the First Deputy Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, who also stated that the youth must get ready to lead with the interests of the nation foremost in mind.
Barau took them back to his early days in politics, recalling how he was trained by nationalist politicians who gave up their time, effort, and money to advance the nation, including the late Mallam Aminu Kano and Alhaji Abubakar Rimi.
"It is our responsibility to uphold the legacy of these leaders with honesty and dedication as they devoted their lives to the advancement of Nigeria," he declared.
He stressed the need of positive political participation and advised the Forum members to steer clear of divisive rhetoric in favor of highlighting the accomplishments of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
"You are an important player in the political arena. You should be aware that you will be the leaders of the future, especially now. You should thus aspire to be like patriotic leaders who always have the best interests of the country at heart, as the nation needs you to be ready and prepared to take on leadership roles.
Therefore, I applaud you for setting up this forum since it will help our government and party. For the sake of the nation's improvement, I thus implore you to remain focused and take the proper course," he stated.
The Deputy President of the Senate was thanked earlier by the Forum's Chairman and Secretary, Ahmad Gogel and Muhammad Ibrahim Tudun Wada, for introducing the law that established the North West Development Commission (NWDC).
They expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for approving the bill and stated that the Commission will help address the issues affecting the North-West geopolitical zone once it is operational.
