It has been confirmed by Al Nassr that Cristiano Ronaldo has contracted a virus.
This was announced on Sunday by the Saudi Pro League club.
This means Ronaldo will miss the AFC Champions League match against Al-Shorta in Iraq.
His departure will be a devastating blow to Al-Nassr, who have had a sluggish start to the season and lost all three of their Saudi Pro League matches thus far.
"Al-Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo was diagnosed with a viral infection today and wasn't feeling well," said the statement.
He has been advised by the team's doctor to remain at home and recuperate.
This means he won't be joining the rest of the squad on their trip to Iraq today. We hope our captain gets well soon.
