Ahmed Musa, captain of the Super Eagles and general manager of Kano Pillars, has vowed to transform the club and make it once again one of the premier football institutions in Africa.
Musa reiterated his intention to revitalise the club and expand upon its illustrious history during a Monday familiarisation meeting with club chairman Alhaji Ali Muhammad Umar and board members, during which he made this pledge.
The former Leicester City and CSKA Moscow forward has reportedly told the Media and Communications Directorate of Kano Pillars FC that they must now work tirelessly to bring the four-time Nigerian champions to a global audience.
According to Musa, "the story has changed in recent years," despite the fact that Kano Pillars is their club and one of the most successful in Nigeria.
"I want to thank you all for being here today. With the support of the Board members and yours, I will do all in my power to turn this club around and make it a top club in Africa and the world."
In order to realise this ambition, Musa emphasised the importance of his familiarity with the home league and his vast experience playing football in Europe.
He went on to say that the club's success would depend on the management, players, supporters, and partners working together in harmony and with a clear vision for the future.
Aiming to bring Kano Pillars in line with global best practices, the Kano State Government under Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf appointed Musa as General Manager.
With Musa leading the charge, the club is anticipating a more professional, ambitious, and excellent period, with the goal of inspiring fans in Kano, Nigeria, and beyond.
