Premier League: He desires attention for himself - Manchester United legend slams Michael Oliver for officiating

After Saturday's Premier League match between Arsenal and Manchester City, great Peter Schmeichel blasted referee Michael Oliver for red carding Leandro Trossard.

At the Etihad Stadium, Trossard received a dubious red card shortly before halftime.

After a foul by Trossard on Bernando Silva, referee Oliver halted the game and gave Man City a free kick.

Nevertheless, the Belgian international was sent out after Oliver showed him a second yellow card for what seemed like kicking the ball away after the whistle had blown.

Schmeichel was displeased with Oliver's choice and felt that Oliver wanted attention for himself.

I don't think the Premier League has ever seen a game like this. Cardstock in a gentle yellow hue! If Michael Oliver wants to destroy it, why? Get a handle on what you're dealing with; this is a major game, and people's emotions are running high.

However, Michael Oliver is determined to steal the show! (According to afcstuff on X), Schmeichel stated.
