In response to the death of Sol Bamba, Van Dijk said: "He's far too young"

The loss of Sol Bamba is "quite tough," according to Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk.

Tragically, Bamba passed away on Saturday while getting ready for a game against Adanaspor. The Turkish club confirmed the news.

After receiving a non-Hodgkin lymphoma diagnosis in December 2020, the Ivorian was thought to be out of danger.

"When I read the news it was quite tough," Van Dijk remarked following Sunday's 3-0 victory over Manchester United. We had discussions and I played against him. "Rest in peace" is all I have to say.

"He's far too youthful. His family is the only ones who can handle this.

After the international break, the Premier League should do something, I'm hoping. He is a decent man, and his loved ones are lucky to have him.
